Why not the Nine.1?

Yeah, I did see that. That amp looks straight up badass. I just wish I didn't have such a small car, I have no more room for more subs, and/or bigger amps. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I wish they would come out with a production 9.1xx or something.

Its hard to beat the price point of a 9.1. I use to run them when I competed two years ago with usaci. I ran just one with two of the 18 ov's dual 2's, with a ohm load of .5 for most of the year. The amp is very strong and built really well. I had two kinetik 2400's during this time and one run of 0 guage. My best score outlaw was 150.7 in a 99 ford explorer, I had a second 9.1 that I would strap with impedance load of .25 each for testing purpose. I was able to register a 153.2 with voltage dropping to 12.7. I curently run two of the 9.2's in my 02 rodeo, one of them is running two ohm mono and has yet to give out . As for the comments of Ben the owner, don't really care what people think about him, the company makes great products and customer service outstanding. These two combinations is enough for me to keep coming back again and again.

Eh, I had my moment with eD but that's in the past. I just had a bad day that day. I can't speak for anything besides the amps, because my friend has a 9.2x and I have a 9.1, and both amp are very solid.

The ed amps are rated at 12.5 volts rather than 14.4 like most others. The amps puts out slightly higher power with voltage above rated. We manage to measure 1810 watts to 1860 watts at .5 with voltage dropping down 13 starting from 14.2.

They are like say 85%-90%. Well basically it draws more amps than the sundown or whatever amp to create the same power.
Thats odd, i ran the nine.1 @ 1ohm at a Meca Event (Carl Casper) and could not even pop a 40 amp ANL fuse. I found this amp to be very efficient for what it is......

So about the efficiency rating...
Does this mean that the nine.1 is more likely to cause dimming?
Yes.

Well I'm just going by their stats. But Alex said that they rate their efficiency different. I didn't quite understand it.

I guess they rate thier amps on the conservative side, which is ok with me. I'd rather them adverstise their products in such a way that I know that I'm going to get what they say, and most likely extra on top of that.

Are you sure? Current draw is current draw, no matter what the efficiency is. So with your logic, a class AB amp that draws 120 amps at full volume is going to cause more dimming than a Class D amp that draws 120 amps at full volume because the Class AB is less efficient? I don't think so!

Ya definitely.

I bet mine would do close to 1600w at 14.4 @ 1ohm.

No. I was comparing it like this: If you have another amp that puts out the same power as the nine.1 and it is more efficient. It will draw less current to produce the same power because of the higher efficiency which in turn would cause the lights to dim less.

No need to be a dick.

Sorry dude...

I have heard it one too many times that Class D is "easier" on the electrical system from the local custom shops. They blow so much smoke up the unsuspecting customer's *** that the customer thinks they can fly....
