Why not the Nine.1?

What keeps people from high end subs from buying the Nine.1?

I have a Mag 15" and people always recommend the Sundown 1500D but I cant understand the point of paying more?

I am currently planning on the Sundown but what makes it so much better than the Nine.1, I know it is more efficient but the ED has a nice warranty (and the company will definitaly be around for the next 3 years) and a (much) lower price.

Does the eD make really distorted power or something?

no, the eD is a very good amp. from what i have seen though, the sundown makes more power.

the sundown/mag is a combo many choose because the companies work together.

my nine.1 was awesome, and pesteele is running it now.

people hate eD because the owner, and the fact Ben has enough business sense to sell EVERYTHING possible in car audio with his name on it. He IS in fact a douche....but I havent heard a "bad" eD product.

i havent ever burnt up a nine.1....ive owned one and it was perfect imo. reasonably efficient, didnt **** with my lights. stayed around 13 volts with my 130 amp stock alt.

I DID however lose some screws and they were shipped the following business day.

just a matter of how much you need to make you budget, and how much you don't mind contributing to someone the bulk of the forum hates.

If the ED is enough power, get it. Even ED bashers can't come up with anything negative about the amp itself.

The pictures should explain the price difference. Double the parts count throughout nearly the entire amplifier.

But from the accounts I have heard the Nine.1 is an excellent unit in it's price range. There really is nothing wrong with it per-se, it's just not incredibly overbuilt like the SAZ-1500D is.

As was previously stated many folks don't care for the owner, Ben, or the company as a whole. This is a pretty common view on the more major audio forums.

I definately plan on the Sundownz Im just trying to understand the difference?

Yeah if the guy is a douschebag I really dont want to support him anyway even if the product is quite nice...

problems with preorders so i hear, and also some other issues in past.

I agree with what many have said.

If you have the cash go with sundown, the are made to last and also provide what ever you needs be. both sq and spl, efficient, and lots lots of power, not to mention .5 ohm warrentied.

If you can't afford then save, or go with a good amp, the nine.1. It has had lots of success. not many problems, and still provides just the right amount of output for the mag. But me personally i would get the sundown because if you have the cash for a high quality sub, get a high quality amp, then your set for quite some time
