in time you become the leader and others will follow. thing is i never left my neighborhood and would rather take my friends who were special ed and had learning disabilities and help them get through college. they graduated high school and one was not diagnosed with dyslexia until after high school, if he made it why cant others?

its not a fema trailer we bought a different kind.but after katrina my parents credit got screwed up real bad and my dad does landscaping and my mom cant work cause her cancer and between my mom and brother hospital bills dont tend to make it easy paying to build a house i help where i can but they dont really want my hand out

if your special ed class size is like 3 if you are in a normal classroom you have an assistant right there with you. but you still did good to help your friend out.

I'd like to see an assistant. I have never seen one. I have seen one teacher who tried to baby sit 30something punkass teenagers.

However, in the AP classes, you have 13-17 students. Very similar to graduate school.

how did it get screwed up? they have defer your payments if you are victim of a natural disaster. have a friend who was displaced after hurricane Ike who is still in the same position and he has not defaulted on any credit.

not in our current trend of a LRE teaching environment in which it is the duty of the teacher to address the issues of the student as a whole. these weren't students who were mentally challenged and needed a babysitter.

teachers are NOT underpaid, the poorest district in our area pays $45K to start, but thats on a 190 day contract. they work HALF a year for $45K. if you think that is underpaid you have an issue.

should NEVER come from a teacher to a student.

teachers are NOT underpaid, the poorest district in our area pays $45K to start, but thats on a 190 day contract. they work HALF a year for $45K. if you think that is underpaid you have an issue.

some schools do have teacher assistants, but they are more likely used in overcrowded elementary schools or in middle schools where kids go through more changes and mood swings than you can shake a stick at.

teachers assistansts are certified by the state and usually only assist with part of the curriculum, support the lesson plan, and try to keep students inline. they do not teach unless they are assigned a small group from the class. the issue is money and often times schools will hire more instructors to reduce class sizes instead of paying a teachers aid.

Man. I have never heard of anything like that. We changed the laws recently to increase class sizes because a tax increase was voted down.

why not? they weren't challenging enough for me. i had a 156 IQ, but they were trying to cop me off as being ADD. its natural for humans to interact that way, look at this thread.

most teachers DO have summer jobs, do you know how much they get paid to teach summer school? tutoring pays $20+ an hour, wouldn't you do it? Pearson also hires teachers to help in editing text books as well as testing materials, Pearson Publishing has been known to pay teachers up to $80k for three months of service, wouldn't you?

many teachers are like average Americans that cannot manage their finances. its a society issue, not a career issue. many teachers do not know how to manage their finances because they have so much time off that they spend their money too quick.

lets look at 6 months of work for $45K, then you go to work from 8am-4pm, you have two periods off a day, that leaves 6 hours of work=30hrs a week for class and 10 hours for lesson plans and grading. not very hard considering teachers have most of their curriculum provided by the state. its called a scoping sequence and makes classroom management a breeze.
