ok here is what i got. i have a ohio generator alternator the baddest one they make for a 16 volt set up with a external voltage regulator. i have 2 16 volt batcap 8400 charging at 18.5 volt like batcap side to charge them at which make since cause when you charge a 12 volt battery you charge it at 14.5 volts so a 2 volt differences is what you need to keep it charged. all ran with knukoncepts 1/0 wire which is almost 2/0. all ground are to the chassis both batterys are to. a eclipse cd7200 with 8 volt pre out. knukoncepts highend rca's they are like 4gague. i have a earthquake phd 20,000 which is a 16 volt amp they say. here is my problem i put power and ground to it with rca's and a remote wire no speaker wire so i can take my 50hz sine wave and get my 70 volts reading on a meter. but be for i can even get the meter on the speaker terminals to read the voltage the amp blows as soon as you turn on the car. like there is to much power for the amp sounds like popcorn in the microwave. what am i doing wrong to make it blow instantly? thanks

What do you mean your amp keeps blowing ? Are you talking about the entire amp shorting out internally and completely cooking the amp or are you talking about the inline fuse ?

the amp keeps blowing smoke out of it and earthquake says it is blowing transistors and capacitors
It sounds like a wiring problem in the vehicle or it might be something wrong internally inside the amp like a poor solder connection that's shorting out or opening a circuit or it could be a bad trace on the PCB.

the 16volt system is a system by its self i still have my 14volt system to run the car the 16volt part is only for the amp. and i might sell the amp after earthquake repairs it. i want to go with a stetsom amp next.
