why does the south and truckers still fly the confederate flag?

Down here in Houston and College Station I've never seen a black person sporting a confederate flag - it's always been a redneck type and I've crossed paths with plenty that are racist. So yeah like a couple have said above, it may not really be a symbol in support of slavery, but it is easily misinterpreted that way and for good reason.

texas wasn't part of the confederacy. texas wanted to secede all by themselves. they fly the flag with a single star for a reason.

politics. ironic part is that most of it is white liberal democrats. they hate being white.

As a LOYAL American I find it stupid, hateful, and retarded.
