Why do people insist on over-pricing their equipment in the classifieds?

shit, i bought my eclipse 8443 for 215 SHIPPED almost 2 years ago from iceteebone, and i still see them going for 225+ shipping to this very day.

WOW, this is probably the dumbest post I have seen in a while.
It is fairly simple, I am not surprised you didn't pick up on it though. I will break it down into 3 simple phrases for you to understand.

1. They own the item, they can sell if for whatever they want to sell it for.

2. If you dont like the price, dont buy it. If you can find it cheaper elsewhere, buy it elsewhere.

3. If you must tell them their price is too high keep it to a pm, don't post it in their thread like an *******.

Quoted for the idiotic post dumpers who can't seem to figure it out.

I mean seriously when people post in the classified section of this forum I rarely ever find someone list at a good price. Its always someone listing an item for $350 when you can clearly get it for like $100 less on ebay if not MORE(NEW )(and probably less on other car audio retailer sites as well) I mean whats the point? I mean unless their is some sort of warranty on it(which im guessing most cant be transfered?) And then they complain about post dumping...its hilarious.
Also Almost every price gets talked down...
It's called haggling. Send a PM with what you would like to pay. Simple as that. They either say yes or no and you both move on. However attempting the haggle in the thread is pure dumping BS. If you don't like their listing practices then really just move on altogether. I don't see why this should bother you. My guess is you expect everything for nothing and would be a piss poor buyer anyway.
/yourself

I think what's even worse is when people come here just to sell stuff with 1 post, just joined, no pictures no refs etc. We all start somewhere but some of these guys come outta the blue with $2000 worth of stuff they wanna get rid of and don't use pics yet bump the thread non-stop. Ya my post count's low too but i've been here for a while now to see how lame that is.

i have to agree

and id like to add one thing

why is there a need for a useless *** thread such as this? you dont like their price....then dont post or buy it...common sense.

It makes sense.
Sites like ebay are based on the premise that you have bidding wars to attain the highest possible sale price.

Sites like this (member-to-member sales) work the opposite way...start high, then negotiate. There is no point in posting something for sale at a price that it will clearly get snatched up at...the goal is always to get maximum value.

With that said though, there are some that are way out of reach, and I'll agree it can become unreasonable sometimes.

Just my .02
Id agree...

bc they know that some ppl are stupid enough to overpay for their shit
I guess so...

They normally post a price just because it's a requirement so they just throw something up and say obo. If you don't like the prices then either don't buy it or PM them with your best offer. What's hard about that?
Your right..

Let me say 3 things you can understand.

1. go **** yourself

2. go **** yourself again

3. and **** my di*k biatch!

Completely agree with this. Price starts high, people are always negotiating or lowballing.
Thats what I would do...id never buy at a price that a seller initially offered at.

a seller can sell for what ever they want if u dont like the price dont cry about it
Not crying fu*kface im not "crying" about anything dumba$$

Because you touch youself at night.
haha that made me laugh good one.

Their isnt a NEED for a thread, I admit I will never post such garbage again. and I will //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif myself!

I will be happy to post another comment on here, because personally none of you do anything for me, but on to it. When I first signed up on here and posted some subs on here, I had MODS post dumping in my thread.....I was like WTF? Anywayz, over time I realized it doesn't matter what price you post, I am not about to knowingly let some of you assclowns GET OVER like a fat rat on some noob just entering the car audio scene and think they are getting a good buy on a $300 used woofer and it retails for $300. Consider post dumping as a way to make sure somebody isn't robbing people on a sale. I would rather post dump than to let some kid get his entire summer allowance taken because some ****** on here sold him $1000 worth of used stuff that could have been had for $1100 NEW. If you don't wanna get post dumped, check what your item is going for BEFORE you start listing a price!!!
