Why do people insist on over-pricing their equipment in the classifieds?

actually, its the complete opposite!!

it is better to sell on ebay. you get more money there than if you were to sell on here coz most guys are educated on what its worth really is!! but id sell here first coz id rather sell within the forum

I will be happy to post another comment on here, because personally none of you do anything for me, but on to it. When I first signed up on here and posted some subs on here, I had MODS post dumping in my thread.....I was like WTF? Anywayz, over time I realized it doesn't matter what price you post, I am not about to knowingly let some of you assclowns GET OVER like a fat rat on some noob just entering the car audio scene and think they are getting a good buy on a $300 used woofer and it retails for $300. Consider post dumping as a way to make sure somebody isn't robbing people on a sale. I would rather post dump than to let some kid get his entire summer allowance taken because some ****** on here sold him $1000 worth of used stuff that could have been had for $1100 NEW. If you don't wanna get post dumped, check what your item is going for BEFORE you start listing a price!!!

Do you go to the local dealers and warn everyone walking into their shop that the prices are too high? Your logic is well focked!

FWIWI posted my barely used Mag 12's for like... 275 each and it was a ***** getting them sold on here.... no matter what you have the price is NEVER good enough here.
**** fine price! I paid much more. If I needed more, I would have snagged them. The problem your having is they aren't the "boner" anymore.

edit: still for sale..

Wow, you must be retarded ...
1) There's a search engine where anyone can search for threads started by a certain user (say Qbenjamin) in a certain section (say Car Audio Classifieds) and see that no mods even posted in your FS threads, let alone post dumped, moron.

2) You obviously can't find the View Forum Leaders link at the bottom of the main forum page.

3) Consider post dumping to be a 24-hour time-out from the forum.
Werd. That is why I challenged this POS to link the thread. I already checked his threads and no such thing ever happened. Qbenjamin obviously has a problem with the truth.

It's called haggling. Send a PM with what you would like to pay. Simple as that. They either say yes or no and you both move on. However attempting the haggle in the thread is pure dumping BS. If you don't like their listing practices then really just move on altogether. I don't see why this should bother you. My guess is you expect everything for nothing and would be a piss poor buyer anyway.
/yourself
That man is right.

I will admit that it may be tempting to jump in if you see something you think is incorrectly stated about the specs or something (although I the peferred remedy is probably still a pm).

However, when you are *****ing/haggling about the price within the thread you are clearly violating the rules. If you don't like it go to another forum. If it is against the other forum's rules the chances are that the forum is going to be so slow that no one will ever read your post anyway.
