why do my tweeters hiss?

amps are set with dd1 headunit doesnt clip. so amps are set at HU volume 32, HU goes up to 35, did the same thing when i had the old mids in and couldnt go past 25 on head unit without them sounding like *****. im using stinger rcas, the ones that argentaudio is selling on here. so not using cheap rcas.
never used a dd1 but i usually set my amp gains with my hu at about 70% volume. may be the passive xovers too. you have any others to try or possibly run active?

ya the tweets still did it when i had my amps set with HU volum at 25, which is 70% the xovers are brand new and the tweets have been doing it since day on, i dont have another set of xovers to use. i might pick up the 80prs soon so i can run active but otherwise dont have any other way to run active.

PROB ADD ANOTHER EXTERNAL INLINE XOVER.I ENDED UP DOING THAT ONCE, AND IT STOPPED,not sure if the xover was bad, from the box or?? but it worked out just fine.
external inline xover? i dont see why both xovers would be bad out of the box. but maybe i am just that unlucky.

I just cooked a pair of BRAND NEW 3way xover boxes last week, that were rated for 160rms ea, and I only had 120rms ..Maybe.Take your xover boxes and look at the back of them, they prob got hot and melted the board??Mine were Brand spanking NEW! Both cooked..same spot!! Yes sir an Inline external Bass blocker if you will..sorry.Those jokers get hot hiding behind ,carpet,in doors ect, and dont have any breathing room/cooling time.

Mine do it too on occasion man, my current CDT HD61s i heard today doing it and my previous hertz/DD setup did it. Its the track itself, most all the tracks i ripped to my comp off cds do it. And some random older downloaded ones i have do it, but only here and there. So i believe its the tracks themselfs, ive never heard it from a cd though now that i think about it. I use my ipod 90% of the time

yup there is only one spot where the speaker wire and rcas cross and its at 90 degrees cuz there isnt any other way to go about it, since the power and speaker ouputs are on the same side of the amp. but otherwise powerwire ran on one side of vehicle and speakerwire n rcas are ran on the otherside of the vehicle.

Is it making the sound with no song playing? If you turn your volume up to 32 while the song is paused and it still hisses it has nothing to do with the cd or download quality. If its not a bad connection it may just be the noise floor. All systems will make some noise and the more equipment and wires added, the more chance you have of hearing something. You may not notice it on some songs because there is more music coming through that covers up the hiss. Could probably be explained better.

BTW, I-tunes is only 128kb so i would stick with 320.

it only makes the hiss with music, when volume is all the way down it makes no hiss.
