CDT megabass 6.5 midbass/subs

I was looking for a 6.5" 4 ohm midbass that played lower and didnt want to search for a used driver. My range may end up being a true 60 to 200hz in a deadened door. Also cant go over 3" on depth. I saw these and had a few questions. Has anyone used them or heard them? They also have several model lines (HD, CL, and ES) and really wanted to know the differences between them? Also each line lists a 6.5 sub and a 6.5 midbass, but I dont really see much of a difference between each. The specs all look close and the freq. each plays is about the same. I guess the biggest difference would be the qts of the drivers, but they dont list that.

I haven't sold a single set of the "Megabass" CL or HD components. They're kind of a weird model, in my opinion, since CDT quickly released something better. Look at the HD-6MDVC dual 4 Ohm subs instead. I use these as my midbass drivers in well treated doors and I'm very happy.

CL = entry level. Good power handling, very good sound quality, nice build quality, stamped baskets

HD = mid level. Good power handling, excellent sound quality, a bit more polished build quality than CL, cast baskets, nicer crossovers

ES Gold = top level. This is where you can see an extra effort was spent on engineering really special parts. See the PSS Signature inverted magnet mid woofer for an example. The DRT-26 tweeter in the ES Gold line has a patented quick swap mount.

I want to stay with 4 ohm on my amp. I was looking at the HD6M vs. the ES 6M. Specs wise they look almost identical so is the ES line really worth the extra money? What range do you have your HD 6Ms playing in?

the hd 6m will play down to 60 htz , but the lower you play them the less power they will take.the es models are the euro designed components and really are worth the extra cash. i rune the es 6mo mis and the es 010 tweets ,with the es200us x overs and they get very loud and have great mid bass at 200 watts rms per channel.so the es models are better sq , more power handling, and better mid bass.the hd models are supposed to give a better basss resonse than the average comps , even with no deadening.

Is your amplifier preventing you from running 2 Ohm speakers? I have my HD-6MDVCs running with a passband of 50 Hz to 1 kHz. With the special running on them right now they really can't be touched by any other 6.5" CDT sub for value.
