Why did you get into car audio

Because bass.

I remember in the early 90's, some amps, or maybe all not sure, a toggle switch had to be used because the remote turn on in amps wasn't quite there yet. No x-overs on amps back then either. Take that back, some didn't. My 1st real sub was an 8 incher from RF, Series One version....80 rms lol

Anybody my age or a lil younger might remember cd player pull-outs. Long before detachable faceplates became more popular.

Besides...this hobby is worse than a crack addict.

Mine is very similar to youdoofus. A friend of the family had a hatchback ford escort with two 15" MTX Terminators a Kenwood cassette deck and a Kenwood 90something amp. I was around 12years old at the time. Never knew anything like this existed and when i heard it...i've been hooked since.

Back when i was 15 or 16 one of my buddies had 2 cheap massive 12"s in his blazer and I thought it was the coolest thing. So i constantly cranked the 6.5's in my grand prix because i had the factory radio with a 13 band eq ( still one of my favorite radios). Then that car threw a rod about a month after we rebuilt most of the motor. Then i picked up my Crown Vic. That car was and is an audio nightmare. The front speakers were disconnected from the factory because they used to run the cb radio to the fronts. So i had to learn about audio to keep my sanity. Then i threw in a dual 10" on an loc and i thought it was good. Sold that and picked up 2 lanzar 12"s and a Boss 3k ( clamped 52 watts at clipping). I picked up a vfl hybrid 4480 and that really brought those to life. I separated the cone and surround on one of the lanzars trying to play 20hz and below on a garbage prefab. Then i found a Taramps 3k for a decent price and ordered it. At 8 ohm it was just as loud as the vfl hyvrid at 2 ohm lol. After a little i went out and got my current XFL 15's and have been bashing in eardrums for 4 months now. I mainly just keep the system for the reactions from newbies with a kenwood 12 or a boss amp. Im here to help others learn the right way.

I bought a 67 mercury comet, had jenson 7 way 6x9s with 75 ounce magnets each, with a sparkomatic cassette player, I was 19, 33 years ago. Then I had an 81 corrolla, started with a pair of Pioneer rack system speakers/subs on a majestic 100x2, coustic 2 way 4.5s in the kick, graduated to a pair of pyle dryver 12s. Have had at least 40 different changes since. Now just trying to save some coins to have what's in my sig installed in the caddy. Oh yeah, the reason I started this addiction, I mean hobby, always loved music, heard a decent system, and promised myself that I would always have a decent set up in whatever ride that I have. So far I have kept that promise to myself. Stereo Integrity is the best sub that I have ever used, and the IA 20.1 is the best amp by far that I have ever used.
7 way jensens high class, u musta been rich.. i got my sparkomatic at advance auto

Wow you guys were all hooked at an early age huh!? My only introduction to aftermarket car audio was when. This guy in high school kept bringing in his subs and boxes he was working on for his car. Kept saying competition this or that, and i was like what a retard!

Yeah, I got bit by the car audio bug at a pretty early age. The home audio bug bit me even earlier. Had a pretty decent rack system when I was 12 or 13. Always upgrading components until I got my full pioneer setup. I even had a pair of these old sansuis https://goo.gl/images/ohySfl

My brother had 2 10 kicker cvxw under the seats on his 2001 f150 xlt. Also some pioneer 6x9s & 6.5s with some pioneer deck. All the music blended in perfectly. Loud bass clear vocals. Bearly noticed he was running some boss amps a Reaper 750 & Reaper 1050 something like that theyre from around 2004 still running strong. I loved when the bass hit. Then 2 years ago I bought an accord 2000 2 doors and it had Punch tweeters Punch Mids & a p3 te older version with a blown off dust cap Ran by a Kenwood 750w amp that was old af . My bro-in-law hooked it all up and it sounded extremely ****** cus the voice coil made all kinds of noise. I bought a Hifonics Zeus 600 for the front speakers & tweeters & a 80prs. The bass soundee clearer So i just bought a New p3. Sols hifonics amp upgraded to a Infinity Kappa one (800w@2ohms) & infinity Kappq four(125x4) threw in alpine type r tweeters & crescendo ultra neos.Everyone loved my twin amps Id show them off around my friendw. With that system i beat a guy with 2 Memphis Audio 12s. Memphis audio Amps & 4 6x9s. My system was wayyy louder lol the guy would say that he had a Competition Amp that had no limit of watts blablabla then I saw 2 15amp fuses on it With gain all the way up

was on ecstasy for the first time and smoked some weed and got in my buddy's car in the back seat, felt subwoofers piece through my soul for the first time. Fell in love with that sh*t.

Always had a knack for home audio and stuff but that event was the first time that something drove me over the edge fanatically.

Everywhere Id go people would turn they **** up thinking mine was as high as it would go but i kwpt it at 29 out of 62 lol. Then when I turned it up to 50 theyd just burn rubber at me.. All the young ******* would jock and Id be breaking necks everywhere with the weeknd songs.

Instead of selling my equipment at a loss why not just turn it into home audio??

I watched some vids of people's cars playing music at a ridiculous distances like 100s of feet away and still maintaining volume, clarity, and detail. I've never seen anything like that, I didn't think it was possible! My whole world turned around and I just had to have it! I would never go back to "mobile audio" unless I was doing an SQ system. nuh uh!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
