why am i clipping

I think my subwoofer is clipping. was playing fine until I upgraded to 0 awg from 4 awg and wired my aux battery parallel and grounded my amp to the aux battery. I went back over my wires and couldn't find an issue. its wired correctly as I see. do I maybe have to reset the gain knob after upgrading power wire due to more current? and also it clips full throttle even when I mute the music, goes away only if I turn the car off or pull the rcas from the amp. my grounds and power terminals are also tight as possible. help me out

While your retuning, make sure bass boost is off and the bass level on your headunit is at 0.

I'm not sure what you call "clipping", but it sounds like something is terribly wrong. Please take this to a professional before you burn you car to the ground.

kinda sounds like wiring your amp directly to your aux battery was a bad idea. did you add a ground from your aux battery to front battery and the car body near the aux battery?

I'm sure that's whats going on. amp is grounded to the aux battery should I ground to the chassis or maybe ground the rcas to fix the loop

Well it's not clipping. When I turn the key before my cd player even load up there's a loud heartbeat rythem even if I turn the cd player off

The amp is unstable. Very likely a ground issue.

major noob at fault here. I found the problem. I jus had to simply fully plug my sub rca wire all the way in to the headunit.
