Mr. Low End Monster!
ive been going from fourm to fourm and lately all ive been seeing really is guys using 8" woofers. i understand most want to be different but. tell me is there any real reason to run 8's? anyone get some GRATE low end response from them?

I've used RE8's and Sound Splinter RLi8's. Both had GREAT low end response.
Never had them metered as it wasn't the nature of my install...
thanks for the input in overall loudness how loud were they?

The RE8's were decent for their respective power rating. Two of them were plenty loud to blend with my fronts.

The RLi8's were a whole different story. They were capable of being overly loud to my tastes in a ported enclosure. True output potential in such a small driver.

If you are considering 8's for a future install. I know Sundown is coming out with a new one pretty soon. Pretty sure it can be a lethal little bugger. given the companies reputation with their products.

i heard the x8 was only 250rms... thats alot for an 8 but when you look at the rli 8, the dd1508 or the L78 i think it wont get as loud. my friend has a L78 and it gets hella loud for a 8 on a super shity amp, its probably seeing 200 watts maybe, he has it in a little over 1cf ported and it gets LOW! have not metered it yet

I'm running four Sundown E8's(ones in my sig) and they get pretty low, many people have heard them and can vouch for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif and I hit a 143.6 on the TL about a month ago.

The X8 isn't out yet but when it does come out, Sundown, said it should be able to handle 4-500 watts daily and about 1000 for burps. The older E8 models can handle about 200 each, I know people have given more to them daily but mine move pretty good and, to me, sound a little maxed out with me giving them 250 each. I'll be throwing about 350 to each pretty soon and see if I get any gains out of it.

Lol, I laugh because everyone keeps wanting me to make some but I haven't yet, I have a lot of deadener so nothing really moves at all but I'll make some pretty soon for sure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

meter numbers aren't everything

dd1508's have been known to put up big numbers. trubass ultra 8's look stout too.

x8 will def change the game when mr. fuller is done with it and puts them in production
