who makes a good 8" midbass

I doubt you'll get the JBL 2118h/j to play down to where you said (45 hz). Most of those types of drivers fall off a cliff at around 80-100 hz as they are really midrange drivers, not woofers. Not saying it won't work, I totally depends on the install.....could sound fantastic. They also only have 3mm of throw.http://www.jblpro.com/pub/obsolete/2118.pdf
Got the idea from Mark Eldrege's 4Runner. The have a very crisp sound and if I remember right he had his crossed over at 65hz. Is another option I'm looking atright now.

Also have 4 Dayton Euro7 drivers coming. Will do a little testing on them to see if they might do. Ordering some Seas, peerless, and B&W driver to test. Does anyone know anything about the JL midbass drivers?

Well, I'm sure Mark Eldridge could make a pair of potatoes sound good. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've been watching the JBL's on ebay and the last two pairs went for about $140 shipped or so. They look really intriguing and I'd love to try them.

If I stick with the pro drivers in my car, then I'm probably going to get the neo B&C 8's. I have the next models down (PS series) in my car right now and they sound great, but have limited low end LP at 80's although my 12W6 fills the rest in pretty well.

The ZR800's are very full and "rich" sounding for use as a dedicated MB driver up front for me. They are basically on the opposite side of the spectrum from what you just described the JBL's as. They are ultra smooth and move some serious air...maybe even more then the L8's.

Let us know what you decide to go with. Looks like you got some really good prospects lined up.

Haha thank you for spelling Marks name right. Just passing time and trying to make my car sound better. Other nice thing about the JBLs are the power handling and lack of compression over long listing periods.

Next big thing is better amps. Thinking Zapco or Tru. May just mod the ones I have by building matching heatsinks for them.

Have listned to the Hertz. nice but no better than the Aura's.

I've noticed the same thing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif Which is why I'm going to have a very difficult time running a MB or IB woofer built for car audio again. I like the sound, but once you start really hammering down on something like Dyn with some power behind you, they totally shit the bed. Flame my *** all you want for being a hater, but I didn't spend the past year or so building up my doors for set of Playskool drivers to play patty cake in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

AMEN!! Have you ever tried the McCauley drivers. They make a 4ohm prosound 18. Is close to the perfect IB driver. Had one in my old accord with a Alpine 1507 bridged to it. Beautiful sound and could rattle your teeth at 18hz. Off all the equipment I've owned that is one driver I would kill to have back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

you should ask if your SN could be changed to Bravox Audio. That seems to be what all your posts are about. I just hope all the members can detect what's biased or not.
Well I just like to give people an affordable quality alternative and try not to take anything away from all of the wonderful products out there. I could easily recommend Genesis, Morel, Hybrid Audio Technologies, Seas Lotus, Rainbow, or DLS products but most people on here are not looking to spend that on speakers yet. I know that there are products that will out perform Bravox Audio and that sound better but most cost a lot more. I personally have no biased for any brand as I like those that can reproduce dynamic music clearly & accurately.

try the celstion 8" for midbass they sound incredible i have a small box attached to my sub box with 4 of them pewered by a cruch 1400w amp and man the voice is sooo clear it can be heard from far away...... and they were not expensive.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
