who makes a good 8" midbass

Would like to replace my old Aura midbass's. They never really lived up to my expectations. Prefer to stay with a 8 but 6.5 accepted if it can handle 45-50hz to 130hz and power. Changing some things this winter while its garaged. Any suggestions appreciated, but keep them to drivers I can still find and are under $300pr. So no Illusions and such. Great driver but rare as hens teeth in acceptable condtion.

Have thought about the IDQ's not sure they will fit though. The pioneer's i have tried. Lose sounding speaker. Want fast tight sound. Thinking about a set of JBL 2118. Same problem as the IDQs though. May have to sacrafice a little leg room. Will do some more measuring tomarrow. Do the morel 8/9s handle power well?

leg room is overrated. the idq8 does great for midbass. I was really impressed w/ mine. if you want fast and tight, it would depend on your install.

any speaker added to the rear will pull the sound to the rear. now if you mean run mids in the doors that can be done. those 8s i linked were in kicks of a car.

yea sorry for the thread jacking tho i want to get more info on the RD midbass speakers

what i want to do is run my comps up front and use some midbass speakers on the deck

loud speakers are on how its made lol right now

could look into peerless sls 8's.. pretty good for $50 a piece, theyll only play up to 800 or so max just so you know

i use the 6.5 version and love em, wish i could of fit the 8's in my door

Just got a new madison catalog. Peerless makes several drivers that look like they might work. Also have several seas models that look good.

Might try a pr of these per door, SEAS Prestige L16RNX 6"
