Best 6x9 Speakers without Amp

I'm looking to run two 6x9 speakers on the rear deck of my car from only the head unit, no amp. I'm planning on using this Pioneer receiver:

In the $150ish range, what speakers will sound the best without an amp? I listen only to classic rock, hope that helps. Thanks!

Polk audio speakers i have the momo's and they hit good for 6x9's running of a head unit. Now I have them running on a alpine amp and sound even better.

the older jbl 6x9 2 ways (can't remember the model) they come with their own crossovers

rated at around 100 rms

Umm... No. I'd pass on the polk. For running without an amplifier, my best recommendation is a pair of pioneer 6x9 speakers. You'll get the most clarity and depth out of them for the price, matched to the power.

look for speakers with the highets dB sensitivity rating as they will get louder off less power. Something like 92dB would be good...but a small amp would be your best bet, so check out the Profile refurb store online for amps around $40.

Only problem is he'd severely underpower them. Fine and all if you want to upgrade later with an amp, but if you don't, then not the ideal option.

actually the ctx were made for factory drop in replacements so they would do great off of deck power. i've installed two pairs of the ctx57 speakers ran off a factory radio and they sounded awesome.

i have a pair of used JBL GTO 6x9's that i will let go to you for dirt cheap. there in good condition except for a tiny slit in the surround which i fixed with rubber cement. they were never powered over 50 watts rms and never say frequencies below ~70 hz. they sound WAY better than the kappa comp set i had running in the front running on over double the power of the 6x9's the suspensions are still stiff as new. i only ran them for a few months. let me know.
