How does my cdt fair with the peerless and the scanspeak?

The Tymphany drivers we're referring to are home audio spec drivers, not car audio drivers.

CDT *makes* car audio drivers, so it's sort of a different comparison. My personal opinion is that their price/performance is terrible. But, you might LOVE them in your car.

Car audio: 30% equipment, 30% install and fabrication, 30% tuning/ear conditioning, and 10% luck.

I would say go with the SLS 8s, you and your wallet will be happy

I'm contemplating selling my CDT audio ES 07.3 and doing a custom DIY set up.

I think i might spend the better amount of the money on the midrange and tweeter.

That new Tweeter from Hertz looks mighty good not to mention the Hybrid audio tweeter.

First things first im trying to get and aura subwoofer, i currently have a Rainbow profi 12" but im not sure if its going to be enough bass. That DIYMA 12" looks mighty nice as well to pick up and just install it in.

Who knows what i will do .

But i think im leaning towards the peerles sls for the midbass and im not so sure on the rest yet

Peerless XLS. There were a huge bone before they were discontinued. Local as well. BNIB

supposedly better than the SLS line, just a little more pricey

i need to build my side pannels and start sanding down and vinyl the trunk, i have to wait to finally make up my mind if im going to use the Rainbow profi sub or going another direction, either way i have to have marv start on the box or i will build it myself.

Its taking me longer than i thought!

oh well thats the fun of things.

James the one E30m is selling are supposedly 8" midbass but accoriding to madisound Peerless doesnt make 8" XLS only SLS.

xls 8"s are discontinued. Known to be badass

The 830491 XLS 8 was a limited ed HDS series driver. As i understand it, Peerless sold it to Madisound and a few other companies like some folks down under (which is why you see Aussie companies during your searches.)

I've never used the SLS 8's, but I've used some of the top midbass drivers available and they basically do everything the best, really no weaknesses. If the SLS mids offer 80% of the performance that the XLS offers, that's one badass driver and certianly cannot be beat at it's price point.

The L8 will walk all over the XLS in output, but it doesn't play as clean nor have the transparency and effortlessness. Just my experience.

Can't go wrong with either as long as you put them on a proper baffle and give them some juice.

Another good choice for an IB door mount is the JL 8IB4 which you can find floating around on the forums. I just sold mine for $150/pr (used, in good condition.) Just mount and crank that guy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
