Who has soundspinter RL-P

wheres mike...he would know...
Stepped off the plane from New York yesterday.. still three hours off on my time and trying to catch up with a quickness

As stated in PM:

On your driver, the shiney copper spot where the cone connects to the surround is probably just glue reflecting light. I think what may be happening is that the interior light from your hatch door is reflecting off the slick glue spillover, thus making for the orangish hue. Try taking a closer pic from different angles if you can.. if it really is copper, I have no idea what's up with that

. Glue itself won't harm the woofer, but I do apologize for the blemish.
Better more glue than less glue!

negative;)

all interior lights have all been replaced with UV leds. it doesn't bother me, or hurt anything...just never seen copper colored glue:)

squeak, how come i didn't make ur idiot list?

i love my rl-p..

mike is going to all dvc 4 and possibly singe 4's to keep cost down for him and the buyer...it's possible that in the future other vc configs will be available again, if business keeps going that it is...

I think the real question is why I'm not on there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

And I was about to ask this question, so thanks for answering it. The cancelation of the 2Ohm DVC models was a cost-saving thing? If so, would special orders at slightly higher cost (and build time) be a possibility? I've seen one or two comments that the discontinuation of this voice coil config. prohibits certain people from looking into an RL-p...

has anyone that has owned an RL-P also owned an SI magnum d2? I LOVED my Magnum D2 15" for SQ especially and the thing was LOUD AS HELL, and I'm hoping the RL-P is very similar in sound. Yes it does share the TC-9 motor but i've heard lots of TC9 subs that don't sound alike at all.

Thanks in advance.

i've owned 3 diff TC9 motor subs, and none of them sounded anything alike;)

and one more question for mike...or anyone if they know the answer:)

the RL-p is rated(conservatively)at 500w rms. people say they run 1200w to them, and i personally am running 750w a piece to them. but what actually is the thermal power handling of the voice coil? i was playing them hard today and i could smell a little glue and i just assumed that it was just extra burning off, as my hybrid did(guy i got them from said he only had 500w to them, and never had it all the way up)i was well withen tuning, and gains have been set w/ o-scope so i know there is absolutly NO clipping:) just want to make sure i'm not pushing the thermal limit is all;)not trying to melt anything:)

until winisd pro showed me a box at 3.5 cubes sealed or 7.5 cubes ported for a 15" for the RL-P it did look attractive but **** it needs a BIG *** BOX for a .7 qtc. And i prefer around .55-.6 Q so i dunno guys.
