Who has lost faith in religion?

Man I have completely lost faith in god and religion. After seeing what I have seen in these past 2 weeks.... I find it hard to see how people believe in God, Jesus, Muhammed, etc..

I used to be a faithful christian, going to mass and praying and all that, but now, its hard to keep "blind faith"

Well firstofall, i think being a christian is a personal relationship. Some even go so far as not calling it christianity. They call themesleves followers of christ.

well, were you a christian or a catholic?? Cuz christians dont go to mass.

you know if youve got questions concerning the existence of god and all that try to look for answers. the bible does say "seek and you will find" (something along those terms). Some reasons that people turn away from god is that they dont have any evidence to back Him up, or they get destroyed in a debate. but the answers to your questions are out there, you just have to look for them. of course im just taking a shot in the dark here for your reasons for losing your faith.

Yea I mean seeing my friends dad die out of nowhere at 48..... just makes you think.

Ha in a sense. But my mom is very religous, and I kind of grew up with the idea that God was nice to good people, and forgiving, and wouldnt do anything bad.

Your mom lied to you then. Too many people use God as a crutch and think He will be there to protect the people who are good and punish the sinners. The essence of faith is to always believe regardless of whatever adversity is presented to you. Question the faith all you want, and contrary to what the person above me said, you'll never get a concrete answer. You either believe or you don't.

Don't give up man, God is loving and forgiving, but that doesn't mean you aren't going to have hard times. The trials only make you stronger.

Any by the way, catholics are christians too... I'm guessing you meant "are you protestant or catholic?"

my grandfather was a very loyal church goer infact he helped build the church he used to attend...when he retired he took it on as his responsibility to keep the church maintained anyway he died after going in for a surgery that was going to make him more mobile and overall better.....last october (03) me and my mom and my dad were sitting chit chatting watching tv my dad keeled over and died i pulled him out of the chair called 911 he was gone before i ever got to him he was 53. at that point i decided i wasnt going to spend my life kissing up to a higher power although i do belive there is one.
