ive never owned a ported box.....i had a sealed enclosure in my last car with 2 kicker s12L7's, it wasnt so much sq as it was LOUD lol....and now in my truck i have another sealed box

another advantage is you can run a bunch of cheaper subs because of the better powerhandling and still break stuff.lol

x2 thats why im gonig id rather do a bunch of subs and SLAM THE LOWS! then pay around the same thing for fewer better subs ported and have to worry about differnt issues. like blow ur subs because ur playing under tunning! crap like that.

ive noticed all the big guys run sealed. diamonds or clamshells. seems these type sealed enclouser are the best. my guess is they are an mild fourm of bandpass

my favorite setups of the ones ive had so far have been sealed

dont get me wrong, the low lowssss and the extra output of ported boxes is great, but the "tightness" as some people put it, the flatter response, the power handling, and the extra space while still retaining spl make me like sealed a whole lot.

another benefit of a sub that plays well in sealed, can also play well in ported boxes...SOME OF THEM... doesn't go the other way around...can't take a sub that likes ported boxes and put it sealed.

I enjoy the sound of sealed....blends with music better and its smooth

but I do miss ported every now and then...deep lows...mmmmmm

yea ima sealed guy. i have tried ported many times to just get dissappointed. i want any song i throw in the hu to sound good. in ported you only get a small percentage of songs that sound good. if your not going to compete ported is senceless unless you like to listen to bass cd's all day everyday. what good is it if it dont play it all loud. i have a ported enclosure in my van temporarily and im getting frustrated. seems like most of the songs i really want to hear dont play well on it. meh. sq is absolutely poop. and funny how it misses all together certain frequencies and is super loud on others. yea that sounds good lol. when every 3 bass notes hit and the others miss. i would be proud to show that off haha. if your not burping or just into spl comp then its gey.
