whip audio?

I think those are DJ/sound reinforcement type speakers for musicians. If you don't know about them, you probably won't know how to use them in a car... I'm not sure I would. It can be done, but you are probably looking at a three-way system (They often have higher efficiency and a narrower bandwidth trade-off), and it might be hard/expensive to find a conventional dome tweeter to keep up with them. Then you have to make/configure a crossover. I have thought about doing a high efficiency / high dynamic system (Loud!) like that, but don't have the room, time, money, or experience.

Focal used to have a 95-96 db at one watt mid and a 95 db tweeter, but the tweeter was pricey, and then you still need a midbass driver and everything else.

There are component sets out there that will handle 400 watts, I'd look at those first. Buying more powerful amplfiers is the least expensive way to get loud.
