Which Wires go Where??

Im putting a H/U in my dads 97 Chevy Tahoe, is there a site that lists what color wires go to what speaker etc (assuming they use the same color wires in every model.

When we installed it in my beemer we had to trace the wires, is there an easier way to do this?

I tried the Scosche kit from wal mart

I had no mid speaks ! only front and rears.

yeah my middles dont work, but the front and rears do. It went pretty easily for my first real install. I got the L5 in and its only runnin 500w right now cause all i got is a bx1500. The instrument cluster wont light up, i think i blew a fuse. I'll check though.

yeah you have to turn on the factory amp... just splice into the remote wire and jump a wire over to the extra plug... probe each wire til the door speakers turn on... it's late and i can't remember which color it is... pink or orange is what i wanna say but i'll try 2 repost tomorrow after work...

but first make sure you connected your remote wire to both blues... because sometimes the harnesses have the amp turn on where the power antenna wire is... so i'd try that first... if that doesn't turn them on then try going into the extra plug...

I was looking for and amp because i knew that crappy factory H/U couldnr run 6 channels.

I had no clue where to look, im thinkin its under that blasted dash !~!

it is under there... but there is a wire in the wire harness that you use to turn it on... i forgot 2 find out at work today... but if you have a pink wire in the factory side of the harness that you didn't connect... try connecting that to the blue wire... also if you bought a harness **which you should have** then make sure you connected the blue wires correctly

Id like to take that amp out if possible, being 6'3 its kinda hard to fit under a dash

so you wanna run those speakers off the head unit as well? you'll have to run wires to them then from your head unit.. or tie the rear door with the other rear speakers... make sure they are the correct impedance tho... too low and you'll mess ur headunit up
