Which will give me more power?

I'm wondering which will put out more power, a Diamond D5 1200.1 (already in my possession) or a Hifonics BXi1606? I've heard the Diamond is underrated and that the BXi is overrated. I'm looking at power ratings at 1ohm.

Personally, I think the Diamond amp is one of the best built 1200 watt amps money can buy. That being said the Hifonics amp may put out similar power, but at higher distortion numbers.

If you already one the Diamond, you should keep it and forget about the Hifonics amp.

Before clipping the THD comparisons would be indistinguishable - both a fraction of a percent. Any power beyond 1% would be considered unusable (although a LOT of listeners use it).

Power-wise, these two amps are probably close enough to call the same.
