Which TC Sounds Sub FTW?>

also speak to people who have had the subs, theres no 50 percent failure rate on any of the TC drivers i've used at all (tc 5200, tc5400, tc3000)
People still whack off thinking about the tc alum cone breaking.. cant seem to get over it....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

If you order either one of them, make sure TC puts it in a WOODEN crate. Just yesterday somebody was showing pics of a new 15 from TC that was packaged in a cardboard box with 4 small pieces of foam at the bottom. No wood, at all. It was beat to hell by the time it got to his house, obviously. Outrageous if you ask me.

I've seen cases where wood caused more harm than good
How? I can't imagine any arguement for using nothing but a cardboad box and a few small pieces of foam at the bottom, for a speaker weighing at least 50lbs.

Wood will only cause harm if the crate is broken. In that case, had it been only cardboard, damage would have occurred anyway. The only way no wood would be acceptable is if they FILL the box with foam (in plastic). But for the heavier products, they should have some sort of wooden structure/protection.

It was an 18, and unknown actually wants it to mess up on the shipping so he can get two woofers like meh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

they have good customer service, I have not been hassled at all about a replacement

Indeed. Yea the crate broke.

If they were to make a solid wooden crate (my xxx's came in wooden skeletons inside the cardboard) and the shipper damages it, its easy to claim the shipper is responsible. But when its a large, heavy and fragile piece of equipment in merely a cardboard box, I could easily see a UPS saying they are not responsible. Unfortunately these days, it pays to cover your ***.

Well Its gonna be a daily driver and has to sound good.... If I cant come up with the money ima just go with the TC-3000 but I really really wanted to get my hands on the 5200 or 5400 before the price shoot up to a gajillion dollars

Good to hear, glad they are working it out with you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And hopefully they've learned from that mistake and will be using more appropriate packaging methods in the future. Hey maybe that's the reason for the 30-50% price hikes. lol

then they changed to those stupid cardboard boxes.. sucks, but they do what they can to save money, weather or not they have a higher rate of failure:rolleyes:
