which system will hit harder in ported box

the car is a 2000 pontiac grand prix gt 2 door, so according to winisd its pretty much a toss up and the two are neck and neck?

If you like the sound of the CVX, you'll probably like the L7s better than the Rs. I believe the CVX and L7 are basically the same except one is square. Could be wrong though.

sweet thanks alot man, i was leanin towards the alpines cause their so highly talked about, but comparing the l7 and the type R specs, the L7 just has better figures, plus it looks a lot cooler, i just want to be able to hit 145-150 db on the meter

Basically, there probably won't be a noticable SPL difference, provided that they are in the same car, box, etc (Going by WinISD's graphs). SQ is a completely different animal. If you can find both in the same price range, I'd get the L7s.

Kickers would probably be abit more reliable as well, because you wouldn't be pushing them as far past RMS spec.

sweet, yeah the whole SQ thing im not worried about, thats what i have my other speakers setup for, im just lookin for something thatll pound. Ill prolly go with the L7's cause i can get them, their just 50 bucks more than the Type Rs. thats a good point too about the rms
