Which subwoofer do I need?

So I currently have in my possesion a Kicker zx750.1 and was wondering which of the Alpine Type R 15" I needed.

Alpine SWR 1542D or the Alpine SWR 1522D?

I'm pretty sure its the 1542D I want but I really would like confirmation before I go out and spend $200 on a sub that wont be able to reach it's full potential.

Also are Kicker amps any good because I'm also planning on swapping out all my component speakers for new ones and would like to power them with a 4 channel amp.

I'm looking at the Kicker zx350.4 which is rated at 90wx4 so would I be looking at getting speakers rated at 90rms?

your amp is 2 ohm so which ever subs you get you need to be able to wire it down to 2 ohms

pair dvc 4 will wire to 1 ohm

pair dvc 2 will wire to 2 ohm

single dvc 4 will wire to 2 ohm

you can probably get better sub than that Alpine for the money

in my opinion Kickers are too pricey and depending on what 4 channel you want you can probably get a less expensive amp that will do the same wattage.

a lot of people did not respond probably because this was asked a lot and if you search you will find the answer but good luck with your build

the older zx amps are good amps, im not too sure of the newer ones but if its new kicker i wouldn't pay retail for it, same power can be had for less, or ALOT MORE for what you want to pay for a new kicker amp, now as far as the sub goes theres alot more options out there to look at man

instead of getting that alpine for $200 you can get one of these c2 audio presale for $99

this comes in dual 2 or dual 4, if you want just one sub you can do a dual 4 for your 2 ohm sub amp, or if you ant to run 2 of these you can get the dual 2 for fianl impedance of 2 ohm.

if you ask me I will get dual 4 ohm for 1 sub and later on get another dual 4 ohm to wire down to 1 ohm and get a more powerful amp.
