Hi there all. I've asked this question on another forum but I'm trying to get all the info I can. So if you've got suggestions I'd appreciate it.
I've got a 97 F350 Crewcab Pickup that there just isn't much room at all behind the seat for a sub. I've been looking at 2 different subs that I think I can make an enclosure that will work. One is the Kenwood KFC-XW1000F it's a thin profile and needs .6cf for a sealed enclosure. That size will be a little tight as I've got two amps back there but I can do it. The second sub is the Polk Audio MM2084 it uses a little smaller enclosure but it's a little deeper sub but I think I can still make it work. I'm not wanting to move my rear seat up more than one notch that way I can still use it as a crewcab (my rear seats have sliders so they move up). I've not found these subs set up for demo here in town so I'm not sure as to the sound of these. I listen mostly to classic rock and country. I'm not wanting any boom or real heavy pounding I just want some good clean sounding bass. I'm just not sure which one of these would be best for my type of music. Has anyone heard these to subs in there designed sized enclosure to give me an idea of which one may do the trick better for me. At this time I've got a 6" bazooka tube behind the seat (I know, I know) and it just doesn't give much bass. Also in making an enclosure for either of these subs the sub will be rather close to the back of the rear seat about an inch is that ok?
Thank you for any help you can offer.
Alan
