which sub to get (need recommendations)

Hey bro I ordered 1 Alpine Type R from Ike-Sound for $125 no shipping no tax. Still waiting for it to show up but went to a local dealer and heard one in a sentra and it rocked and after all the advice from the group I thought what the heck $125 not bad, if it doesn't sound right in my truck I can always buy something different later.

type E's are the LAST YEAR's type S models, slightly modded. it has an E instead of an S, there's no magnet boot, and the wire terminals are regular clip ons, not binding posts.

here's something new (to me) : diamond subs diamondaudio.com are they any good?

Get the Diamond M5.

I can't remember where i found it on the internet, but they are selling it for dirt cheap. I have 2 of them, and they sound AWESOME!! Better than the Type-R and RF stuff. I don't know about the Shiva. But i would expect them to be better than the shiva.

I know that i'll never get another sub unless it is a Diamond MacDaddy, or TDX.

First off there is a Type E Alpine sub. They are basically the same as a type S but they have a lower power rating. Ive heard 3 of them installed and they are o.k., but i still prefer to pump the extra 20-45.00 in to get its bigger brother.

Subs that i would reccommend?

Adire audio Shiva

MMATS 12" sub (250 RMS) Very nice sub (only 100.00)

Alpine Type R - if not Type S

get hollywood excrusions they pound like crazy, I got two for 150 and they were the 1280d's they handle, and they have a lower end, what kind of power are you going to put in them? if lees than 300 get some pioneer impp's they hit too. for the money and power rating.

Originally posted by mofugga well i was thinking about buying the alpines, but now i'm definitly not going to. thnx.

and also what do you all think of orion subs and their amps?

now back to my topic: how do the xplods, kendwoods, sound? they loud or just clean sounding?

Orion subs and amps have always done wonders for me. I have run from their older bottom of the line cobalt 12" to their top of the line HCCA subs and amps.....Rarely have I had a problem with distortion, sound quality, overheating or even a blown speaker.

I have used the subs and amps in many competitions and done very well for myself tho i have not been competing for a few years now. 19 out of 20 SQL on average with the subs and highs is what I have been able to put out and I will stand behing them all the way. The only issue that you may have now tho is price. If you are looking for good price and sound quality go with the xtr or even the cobalt series. Go Orion you cant go wrong!
