does enclosure volume matter

I have two infinity kappa perfect 10" sub's and I am making the sealed boxes for them. The manual says that they should be .60 cubic ft. My question is does it really matter? Beyond the manual I have not really seen anyone pay much attention to the volume factor. I would appreciate any comments.

usually it lists 2 volumes..... min and max. stay within the 2. too small, is bad, to big, is bad... to big would be an infinite baffle already and just be like the max. it lists but you just got more box wasting space...... to small, will overheat the motor structure much quicker, and cuz damage... plus the displacement of those kappas are biger, so dont' go under .6 UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANSES ~~~~~~ i'd put those subs in .9 Ft^3 each, sealed that is.
