Which specs are better on this EQ?

First option clarion eqs746

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd option clarion eqs755

------------------------

Graphic center frequencies: 50Hz, 125Hz, 315Hz, 750Hz, 2.2Hz, 6kHz, 16kHz

Boost/cut: 12dB

S/N ratio: 83dB

Frequency response: 8Hz-140kHz +/-1dB

Maximum output voltage: 8V

THD: 0.01%

Input sensitivity(RCA):

Input sensitivity(HIGH):

Input impedance: 20kOhms

Output impedance: 1kOhms

Stereo separation: 73dB/1kHz

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also I'm planning to connect this to an Alpine ktp 455u power pack/Amp

where the manual states...

Input Sensitivity Ref: Rated Power into 4 ohms, RCA Inputs 0,2 - 4,0 V

These eq's state rca outputs at 7 V and 8 V max, I'm confused by the "MAX" part,

will they output at a lower level? I don't want to damage the amp.

thanks

the eqs746 looks to be the better option

max is a bogus number, cut it in half and thats a number you're more likely to get(rms, which matters). somewhere around 3-4vrms, which is perfectly acceptable

II have the 746 and worked great then and the specs seem better than the other. What kind of price are you getting it at compared to the other model.

Thanks for the replies

Price difference is only a few dollars, So looks like I'll get the 746

So are you saying the volume on the EQ will never be turned up enough to output the "max 7 V" through the rca's ? would it do any damage if it exceeded the 4 V input limit on the amp?

I really want this EQ but don't want to fry anything.

Thanks

Why do you think you need that EQ?
1) I love eq's ( I've had many)

2) my HU pioneer deh6300 has a 5 band eq (the reason I bought it)

but these are the settings...

100 hz -315 hz - 1.25 khz - 3.15 khz - 8 khz So basically no high end or treble if you like

you are better off getting a head unit with a 13 or 16 band EQ instead. The 16khz is pretty useless if they made a 12.5k point, it would be a lot better. I've hard those before, didnt really solve sound issues, more like it solved one problem but caused another.

Can you hear 16k? I think typical hearing bandwidth is about 15 to 15k..
