Which Size to go With??

I am purchasing a single kicker L7 solo baric for my firebird. The box I am getting is the t-top box from subthump, which houses 2.2 cubic feet. I am opting for a ported enclosure in order to get the low (sql?) bass. My question is should I go for the 12" when the recommended ported volume in the box is not optimum for that size woofer, or should I opt for the 10" version which would be suited perfectly for the cubic feet volume in the box?

Either 10 or 12, it will be powered effectively with a solid kicker mono amp. Would there be a noticable dropoff (of low bass) in the 2 sizes even though the 10" would have sufficient room? Which route should I take? Thanks for the assistance.

for the size that you have I would go with the 10"...I had two 12s in 5.2 ported before port and whatnot and it was loud but coulda been louder for sure but i didnt get a chance to rebuild the box bc it was all stolen 1 week later //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif for ur application I would say the 10 tho since u r gonna run it in a hatch so it will automatically loud as hell..

Just my opinion tho.
