Which is louder? Series or parralel?

I have 3 12" Dual 6 ohm subs. JL 12W6v1's.

Question is- if I put them parralel @ 1 ohm,

Or in series (of sorts, kind of a mixture) @ 4 ohm, which is louder and more accurate?

I will be using about 1000 watts RMS at either 1 or 4 ohms. The box will be a divided sealed box for now, built to JL spec.

1000 watts at 4 ohms is high voltage, 1000 watts at 1ohm is high current.

Higher current equals greater heat, so i choose the PPI based on it won't need to work as hard to make the wattage as the Orion will.

Thanks, that's a good idea, i like the logic behind it. Plus, the PPI is much cheaper than the Orion.

Still, even then I worry about cone displacement cancellation... Kina like when you run woofers in series in a one chamber box, except not as bad. Probably shouldn't. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Shouldn't be problem, I have done it without problems several times. Just keep the wires as short as possible between the woofers and use a nice heavy gauge (10/0 or better) for low resistance.

Hmm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif I like that idea too! Thanks for posting that, interesting idea!
When I was young in the field (IE, last year, haha) it was pounded into my brain from somewhere that a DVC woofer went parallel for SPL, series for SQ. It could just be me convincing myself, but DVCs in series have always sounded a hint better to my ears.
