Which is better?

What speakers are you running? Is there a problem with the current setup?
Yeah. My VFL Hybrid 150.4 blew upon 1st connection of power.

Took it to a repair technician, he let me know the entire power supply section was gone, and a few resistors from that.

He said the repair cost will be about $120 to $140. By the time it's all said and done, I can get a brand new one.

I went to friggin Wally world for a temporary amp, and i cant listen to it, lmao.

I have a component set I put together, VFL 65 MBs, Polk X-overs, and Massive Audio DT-05 tweets in my front doors.

And you have to go with american bass? Budget?
No, I dont really have to. Just thought I'd rock them for a bit, see if I do like them or not. My last 'new' amps was Massive Audio.

I did like their line up A LOT. I had the 800.4 and D8000 amps. Love them, until I dropped below 13v. Then they'd shut down.

Being I have AB VFL65MBs up front, SQ65s in back, with XD65s for a little bass, I thought of going with AB for amps also.

Dont have much of a budget to stick to, I've looked at CT, but Im getting a bad image from what I see by some comments on them.

So not covered under warranty? Want to sell it for cheapppp?
I havent gotten in touch with them about it. I bought VFL-Hybrids in Feb. 2014. And that was 7 hours from where I live now.

I talked to the shop I got them from and he said roughly they'll take over a month to get it fixed and sent back to me.

Now, if I can get it repaired for free, I'll go ahead and get it fixed then put her for sale with her brother, the 2680.1D.

What went wrong? Hooked + and - up backwards??
That would make PERFECT sense, but no. I double checked everything, and none of the wiring was backwards.

I asked the technician if I did, what would the damage be, he said "a lot worse, so dont think you did that". I

asked if he's ever seen an amp detonate on its first contact with power, he said he has, but not on good amps.

He's seen it on a handful of Crunch amps. Nothing of high quality ever did it. But I did check the 2680.1 and it

works perfectly fine. Really bummed me out tho.

I have a VFL Hybrid 150.4. I am looking into replacing it with new, or another. Are the HD 1504s better than the VFL Hybrid? The VFL-H is D-class. The HD is A/B class.
No..VFL is a better series.I put a vfl 15.4 in and it sounds fantastic! that was approx a year ago.Id look at a PPI 900.4 or the Ion 520.4 that both have excellent, reliable experiences,if you dont go with the 150.4

Really? Those are good? I thought of the 520.4, but MANY amps use that same board, and heard they arent too great. But, I dont know.

I was ticked when my VFL went. No smoke, nothing, didnt smell toasted or anything.

My neighbor has both amps you have in his x cab chevy that I installed, and both amps slamm! VFL amps. That 26801 is a little beast..he runs a pair of xfl 10s on it and swapps out with an Audio Tecnix 12 from time to time. The 150.4 is running a pair of CDT tweets and an Infinity 6,5 in front and a pair of infinity 4x6 in rear..sounds fantastic. Taylor tested the Ion 520.4 out,and results were pretty decent.Ill see if I can find the thread/test results

I got the first run of the 4480.1s and the 150.4 at the same time/buy from Mylows10/Jim..No issues with any of my AB buys..even the 4- xfl 12s,and a pair of xfl 10s

I know PPI and Soundstream share the nano line, the 520.4 is the same for both, I want to say there was 1 more company that shared it, but I cant put my finger on it.

I know the VFL 2680.1 is a mini beast, thats why i bought it, I was impressed with it when I saw it was on a single 15" sub, lol.
