Which is better?

Well, if the Kenwood outputs anywhere close to rated power....then it's capable of more than double the power output of the Profile. For that reason, I'd go with the Kenwood.

Or, for almost the same price as the Kenwood...you could buy two of the Profile amps and run one bridged to each side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

ok i dont understand this then i guess. Wouldnt that be too much power for my 2 speakers?? I mean the type R 6.5 are rated at 70 or 75watt RMS yes/no? Should i not get an amp that is rated at 75 watt RMS or is that not the way it works. How about the phoenix gold xenon 100.2 ??

Yes, the amplifier has the potential for more power than those speakers are rated to handle. But that doesn't mean you must use all of the amplifiers available power. The more power you have "on tap", the better IMO. My little rule of thumb is to buy the most power you can afford.

Plus it gives you more power for in the future, should you want to upgrade.

I would take that over the Kenwood and Profile.

does that phoenix gold have low pass and high pass? Cause id want those to be on high pass yes/no?? Just looking at it, it doesnt have any mention of high pass just low pass level control

Like Squeak said - you do not have to use every watt that a given amp is capable of to use it successfully. Even if you are using all an amp will make it doesn't make it until close to full volume anyway.

If you buy an amp that only does the top-end of a set of speakers RMS input rating then what you end up with is an amp that is adequate. You may get absolutely superb results out of 'adequate,' mind you, don't think I'm bashing it or anything. But you do not have to only put forth for consideration amps that will do the intended speakers it will be powering's RMS rating.

Solid amp without a doubt. There's more usable power in the Kenwood. (I'm a die-hard Kenwood fan....gotta do my duty as a loyal fanboi) Now that I've dispatched that on the Fo Ree-uh I've heard too many times about that series of Kenwood amps having pretty serious reliability issues if pushed hard. Take that for what it is worth.

And yes, you'd want some sort of high-pass filtering for a component set. It isn't supposed to provide your substage...just everything above it.

just my $0.02
