My brother came by today and showed of his new amp. and we did a quick fast and in a hurry install in his 2000 silverado. We put in a Pioneer DEH-7700, and Diamond Hex 6.5's, and ran them on the front channels of the amp. it was **** loud. then i remembered i had some pioneer 5way 6x9"s, and we hooked them up under the backseat in the ext cab part. This amp as freakin screaming. it hurt my ears inside the **** truck. If PG didnt overrate the amp, (4ohm. 2ohm would be 400wrms per channel) and you know about the hex's, and the by nines werent to shabby. He just wanted the stuff hooked up untill he buys the 15's, and 1200.1 PG, and 4x6plates. I tried to convince him to let me install it right, but if you have a big bro, you know they think lil bro knows nothing, and i dont like arguing, so whatever lol.

All i got pics of was the amp, and they were from my SLVR, so excuse, and enjoy.

Anyways you need to make sure you hook up the second power terminals... They are there for a reason. Your bros amp will crap out on him if he doest quickly supply it with the sufficent size wiring on both terminals...

Crap out on you? C'mon!!! One input is sufficient in most apps. Only in some SPL situations the option of using dual inputs is recommended. The other input can be used to wire a external cap. But b/c only using one, the amp will crap out. I highly doubt it. IMO

I can look at his guage and tell its waaaaay to small to begin with... With the guage hes using, he will definately need to use both terminals... Those amps are power hogs.. It appears that hes using 8 guage

in my car which is in the pics is 4. He has 5 back to the dash, and splits it there, and runs 9 to it, i told him that wasnt good, but again he said i didnt know what i was talking bout.

You need to make sure he atleast uses 2 guage for that amp, and really ide use 0 guage for it... Ive seen these amps fail to many times do to being starved for power

(4ohm. 2ohm would be 400wrms per channel)

Those amps are rated no matter what the ohms are. 200x4 at 4, 2 or 1 ohms. They do rock and need some current. run some decent size wire. 4 awg the smallest

listen to towncar... those amps are power hungry wh0res...

I have 0 going to a distro and then two runs of 4 to each amp. I used to only have a single 4 going to each amp and one of mine died ;( Maybe the wire didnt cause it...but i added a second one anyway.

Here is a thread i started about the same subject..

I also noticed the amp seemed to use a lot more power @ 2ohm than @ 4.

Bah, just use 4 ga wire any you will be fine. I have the 200.4 and the 1200.1, 0 ga from the battery to the trunk into distro block which is 2 4 ga wires. Had both amps for a 1 1/2 years with no problem.

I just installed mine yesterday matched up to a set of SEAS Lotus References(bi-amped) and it sounds amazing. A hell of a lot better than my MB Quart QAA4250. The birth sheet that came with mine was 935watts with all channels driven:)
