Which is Better Class A/B or Class D

I can definatly tell the difference between my Earthquake D2 and my Massive Audio RS-100, The A/B class RS-100 sounds MUCH less distorted. But I guess that explains the 5-10% THD of the D2

If class A/B amps aren't as efficient as class D and generate more heat, is it really a good idea to bridge 2 channels on a 4 channel A/B amp for a sub?? It is possible that the extra heat/stress generated in that situation may open the door for problems?

Let's say an MTX Thunder 1004.4 driving a single 12" or 15" sub in a sealed box.

Not anymore heat than running it at 2ohm/channel. Think about it....they did design the amp to be bridgeable. Will it generate more heat....yes, because it is making more power. But if the amp is bridgeable, then there is nothing to worry about.

Also, class A/B amps become more efficient the harder they are driven, class D amps become less efficient the harder they are driven. With both amps driven near full output, a class A/B will be almost as efficient as a Class D.
