Which is better 2x10' or 1x12' sub???

Hi I have 2 10' MTX TC510's subs and i am running them of the MTX amp tc3001. I want to upgrade so some people told me to get the MTX TC4001 amp and that should do it, but the car audio installer at best buy said with the size of my trunk(my car is a sunfire gt) i would get better sound with one quality 12', and if the 12' is the way to go which 12' is good quality??? The installer recommended an 12' infinity perfect sub. what is everyone's opinion on this??? THanks all opinions will help!

Tell us budget, what you mainly listen to if you want loud or quality or a mixture (a mix will not be as loud or as good of quality normally).

Also, perfect is an ok sub but I think for the price we can point you to something better.

I listen to rap, hiphop, house, dance, club music mostly and i want something loud but i also want it to sound good, also my budget is i don't know because i just shop around on ebay or different sites and find the best deals I don't shop at stores like best buy where they rip you off!

u dont know what u can spend? could u spend lets say 400? i say get an fi ssds put about 1000 rms to it and call it a day (u gona need a box no prefab please). if u want alot of bass get 2 Fi and put around 2000rms to the pair. but if u run to of them and put that much power to them u might have some volt issues and u would have to look in to the big 3 mayb a batt. so i think 1 Fi ssds/copper upgrade and 1000rms...look in to the audioque 1200d

try an 12inch fi ssds in a box tune to 32 Hz and what ever amp u want that does 1000 rms.

mine is WAAAAYYYYY louder.

therefore 1x 12" > 2x 10"

i would like to see it do that at 1 ohm. your not gona get 1000 rms at 2 ohms for what u wana spend
