Heres a list of links with everything I'm getting, 2 12" Type-R Alpines, dual 12" Q-logic slot vented box, maybe 7 feet of speaker wire just to connect the subs to the amp, and some kind of amp that puts out 1000rms or more I guess...

And either http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500MRP1000/Alpine-MRP-M1000.html?tp=115&tab=review

or some other amp at 1000rms or above...like 1200rms.

After hearing a lot of your guys input, I decided to ditch the 13.5" W1 JL's I was going to get and go for more SPL with the Type-R Alpines and a vented box.

I need help on choosing which amp to get, and just general comments and advice from you guys who know the most about this stuff

Is this a good box, also?

Thanks

Also check out the Audiopipe AP15001d. Can be had for around 200.00 from Car Audio Deals (Google it).

And a note on Crutchfield: Fast shipping, great customer support, and free installation accessories... And really high prices. Go with Sonicelectronix.com (make sure they have the item in stock, and not on back-order), or even eBay.. You can find some great deals there.

alright so I'll get the two twelves or maybe even two 15 type r's i dunno yet.

Thanks for linking me to sonix. They are literally a hundred dollars cheaper per sub on the 12" type-X's...unbelievable.

Should I just get a box from my shop then? I don't really want to have to look around online and ask people to build me a box and whatnot....its either a prefab or I just buy one at my local best buy or something from the guys in the car audio section who build them there.

Then I guess any amp around 1000 watts would be good

Yeah, build your own box. Read up on everything here. Go anywhere else for audio info, and you'll probably be shooting yourself in the foot. It's very easy to get sucked into the marketing sh!t these days, so don't buy into it. Don't go to a shop to have your box built, unless you already know and just don't have time, because they'll A) Charge wayyy to much. B) Make the box however they want, and it will sound like dog sh!t.

Just make this forum your new learning place and you'll be good to go.
