Which is a BETTER SUb?

Curious as to which you think is better? The Degital Designs 9512 or the 12"JL audio w7? From the FAQ's and reviews..I would say the w7 is a GReat SPL sub..In my book except for a few minor details I would say the w7 would be better..Higher SPL, SQ, and HIGH DB read outs....ALthough the 9512 doesn't fall too far behind...But with a $400 difference I would rather have a DD 9512...What would u rather have?

I'd rather have the 9500 series over the w7 anyday, just because the 9512 puts is able to produce more SPL than the W7. I know how much you like the W7, but I was not all that impressed. DD for SPL, and Higher #s, but I would have to give the W7 the SQ side of things...

i would have to agree with rangerman on this one. i have heard a pair of W7 12"s and i wasn't impressed with them at all for the price they cost not by a long shot. now when you talk about DD you talk about a sub setting world record SPL #'s with 15"s and 10"s so i have to go with the DD. also seeing as how i own 2 3515"s although they aren't hooked up they are sitting in my closet waiting for me to get more money. now if i was going for a good sq setup i would choose the W7 if i had to, i would much rather have a single or pair of IDMAX subs over a pair of W7's.

True True...I'm a JL fan..But I have always had an interest in the dd 9512..I've always thought the w7's are a **** rip off..Don't get me wrong..There good subs..But for the money..You can DO SO MUCH BETTER...I'm more of a SPL fan myself..So I think I would rather have a dd 9512...For one thing..Its a **** JL..So you know..Youc an't expect much from them..lol

The W7 is a very pricey, yet HIGHLY effective SQ / SPL woofer.. My teammate is doing a 150.3 dash, in NSPL with a pair of W7 12's, and a couple fricking sweet Orion Concept 97.3 amps.. (if you know about amps.. comence drooling //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif) Ranger standard cab.. cut-through... (my design of course) the woofer sounds awsome, and can get loud... if only they were only a bit cheaper..

The 9512 is a very capable SPL woofer.... loud as hell.. but in my opinion.. lacks a bit in sq-oriented installs. SPL though.. it's tough to match... the DD woofers will take tons of abuse, and keep right on playing.. if you're after SPL hardcore style.. I'd have to pick the DD...

just a normal cut... nothing different from any other..

go down to a truck parts shop, get a rubber rear window boot for your ranger.. that makes a good gasket for the bed / cabin seal

Okay, did you use a fiberglass cover on the truck bed??? Also, does the cab and the bed need to be connected???
