Which gauge wire is best to use?

I am rewiring my system and want to know what the best size wire will be for me...

See my sig for the list of my components. I am either looking for 12awg or 14awg, but not sure. F & R have 60rms going to them, and the sub has 300rms.

12 or 14 will be fine. People even use 16 sometimes, but 12-14 will be fine.

use -500 gauge wiring, that should be best.

This is the rule of thumb:

Use wiring bigger than your torso and that is best.

for components you could easily run 16 AWG for that power without a problem..

for 300rms to a sub.. 12awg imo

I use 1000 MCM wire myself. Its a ***** to solder to the factory harness, though.

That amount of power anything 16 or smaller. you'll be fine.

I'm running 70 RMS through speaker wire, and by summer to be 125 RMS or more through it.

16 gauge: ~8.7 amperes

8 ohms -

6 ohms -

4 ohms -

3 ohms -

2 ohms -

1 ohm -

And these specs are at 20 feet. If you throw the amp under your passenger seat, the furthest run you'll be throwing will be >5 feet. My furthest from the trunk is 7 feet. Mind you this is speaker wire, and not power wire (whatever the difference is, probably strand count.)
