Which do you prefer to drive and why: Automatic or Manual?

Manual.

I had this dilemma with my purchase just a few months ago. I've always driven automatics (my durango, and explorer). But this time i was getting a car, i'm SO happy i chose a manual, everyone says it's a pain in the *** in traffic, but I'm in traffic every day, and it's not bad at all.

SUV/Truck- Auto

Sports Car/sedan-Manual no doubt.

Big luxury car- never driven one, but probably auto.

manual is fun, but gets annoying in town and in traffic.

automatic kinda sucks for power distribution. you cant drop a gear or anything when passing traffic. i mean, you can double pump the gas, but thats about it.

Yes you can, on newer cars.

depends for me.

For instance, i wouldn't feel like clutching it in a Chevy Tahoe,

but a BMW or something, it'd be a waste to get something like that in Auto.

actually personally any newer cars, much rather AUTO.

Since most of the decent ones are 6 speed.....

But for anything under 6 gears in an auto, I'd grab a manual.

You guys are just thinking about playing around in a CAR.

Auto in: Run-around the farm pickup, backhoe/forklift, and company vehicle(less teardowns for retarded NASCAR kids)

Manual in: any diesel road vehicle, any vehicle with over 400ft/lbs torque and/or any payloads over 2000lbs, any sports car(Mercedes excluded of course), any tractor or pull design equipment, or any low powered 4-cyl car.

These are real-world applications. Don't think that a girl will toss you her tang cause you can grind gears and stall out in your 5-speed Mazda pickup.

I lol when I see people doing that. Speaker phone, bluetooth headset.

auto.. more time to adjust HU volume instead of having to worry about shifting.
