Well, i pretty much have my lows covered and now i am looking for a pretty cheap set of components, but SQ oriented. I found these as my three choices:

CDT Audio KA-61 $100

JL Audio TR650 CSi $120

Mb Quart DSE216 $120

Can anyone recomend any of these? Will have them on an amp with about 75rms per channel.

I have a mb quart dse213 component set in the rear of my car. It did fine on the headunit and with an amp giving it 70 watts rms the improvement was not much. It just became more balanced between woofer and tweeter. I later decided to go a bit bigger for a new 6.5 inch component set and got focal polyglasses for 200 which ultimately blew the mb quarts away. Although the focals did cost more, it was truly worth it and it showed me how little the mb quarts completed with these. Not to say mb quart is at all bad (i just got some qlines and they are completely amazing compared to the focals) but they mb quart discuses are not something i would get again.

yes i understand there are thousands of them in that price range, i want somthing just as good or better than the slc's if i am going to spend $230 because that it wat my cousin has. are rainbows "the best" in this range?

some people say they are, i havent heard them so i cant say anything. do you like your cousins rainbows?

you can try the crystal sscs6 for ~160.. they are bang for the buck too.

not to thread dump, since they ARE nice speakers, but i should have my dls ms6's for ready to sell next week. one of the tweeters is a little dinged but sounds fine. i was going to sell them for 150 shipped. i paid over 200 not long ago. before the whole busting a nut over rainbow slc, it used to be these dls speakers.

Which ones does he have? Older or newer models? Do you like them? What is running them? Type of car comparible to yours for a similiar comparison?
