Which amp to go with?

Hey, I got a quick question. putting together a system for a friend with 2 15" L7s. I got two amp I am considering. Either one is gonna run 2kw RMS. I just want it to also be durable and not overheat or anything. Heres the amps:

I can get a XX-Colossus II for 750 and run it 2kw RMS @ 4ohm

or a XX-Hercules for 480 and run it 2kw RMS @ 1ohm

What would you go with? Do you think there would be a noticable differance in sound? What do you think the diff will be besides the 300 dollars? Thanks for any help.

Scratch the Hifonics crap and get something worth while.. If you are only looking for 2kw then get an Orion 2500D, save some money on it as well.

Why would you say that hifonics XX line of amps is crap?

They're supposed to be great amps that put rated power and then some... The brutus line on the other hand is indeed crap but not the xx line.

I'm tired of hearing about what people have 'heard' about this product, that product.

Show me a ****ing bench test of some 06 hifonics gear.......

I 'heard' pioneer and MTX are overpriced best buy merch, prove me wrong.

I'd love to know exaclty why YOU feel that hifonics is junk, PTDM, or even why you feel the xx line IS great, Cbass? Have you actually used the gear? Seen bench tests, read unbiased proffessional reviews, and seen benchmark performance scans? Do you know for a fact problems you've heard weren't caused by user error?

So... does anyone actualy have any opinion between the two amps mentioned... I dont want, "Well I dont like either so get my personal pref." I have worked with Orion and Hifonics, I like them both, hifonics is usualy cheaper between the 2 for the same power.

So, which amp would people go with ONLY with the XX-Hercules and XX-Colossus II being considered. both wired to there respective impedenace with a output of 2kw.

they are both very good amps and are underrated. i just ordered 2 15" L7s. but the L7s can handle way more than 1000 rms a piece. ima get a XX-Colossus and wire them to 2 ohms bridged for 3200 rms. can you say wang? each will get roughly 1600 a piece maybe even more.
