Which Alpine sub to go with?

Tried out the S series subwoofer. Though it sounded much better than the Infinity I'm going to be sending it back in turn for the R series subwoofer instead. I did upgrade my box to the SKAR Audio ported enclosure that is bed lined over being carpeted. 1.75 tuned around 35hz. That made a big difference as well over the old box.

The R series is a great line from Alpine. Glad to hear you got a tuned enclosure in the 30s. Makes a difference in the Sub stage and getting the sub to do some work for you in that area. Type R will do nicely on a 1k all day long. Hopefully you get more justice out of the Type R rather than the S series on your 600 rms

Out of curiosity my air space without a subwoofer is 1.75. How would I figure out what the r series would take up of that? Looking at the specs subs optimal air space in ported is right around 1.6.
