Which 6.5" Component Set

My personal preference, assuming you don't mind spending the money, would be to go with the K2P's. They have really good midbass and their highs are very nice.

With the tweeter sounds, the general feeling is that silk is more natural but you lose some accuracy due to material, where metal is more accurate and sturdy but you get a metallic or sometime tinny sound. There are also some made of Beryllium which are both accurate and more natural.

For some reason, when I listened to the pro60's in person, the metal tweeters didn't sound tinny or harsh at all. I heard a couple of other metal tweeters before, and I absolutely hated them, so when I was going to listen to the bostons, I even had the mindset of "I'm not going to like these"

Turns out I liked them so much, I bought them on the spot. The really funny thing is that it sounds better than the silk tweeters I heard. and like I've said before, I dont like the high tinny sound.

I'm going to have to listen to my components for a while before making a definitive choice and if I'm not 100% happy with them, I may pick up a set of hsk165's or some id's. Listening to speakers in a room will be different than listening to them in my car.

Second! For the price (SonicElectronix has them for like $255) they sound awesome. Good reviews in CA&E, and personal experience at the shop I used to work at. Probably going with these in my own car.

I think I'm going with the IDs. I'm pretty sure I've found the best pricing possible. I just need to figure out if they will fit my 08 Sport Trac. They are 6.5s and the OEM size is 5x7. Shouldn't be a big deal with an adapter made of MDF?

As of right now I think I'm going to try to sell my Kappas and amp as-is. That should be almost enough to cover the HSK's. I'd ditch the rears and bridge those bad nelsons

Look into the Morel Tempo 6 if you are considering the HSK.
