which 2k amp is better?

I'm this close to pulling the trigger on the new mb quart (same manufacturer as hifonics ) dsc2000.1, sucker looks nice. Thinking about replacing the Van Gough.

Have you tried or tested that amp yet? I ask because I have seen very little about the new HiFonics owned and built MBQ equipment.

He's basically on the Sundown payroll, so that's why it's turned into an infomercial.

I used to run 4 SD 1500D's, but switched to AQ3500's. Seemed like a lot of amp for the $$$ and CS is excellent with DJ.

Still run a 1500D in the GF's car and a SD100.2 in my car.

For a daily application the possible differences in power won't make a diff between the 1200's. SD has dropped their prices recently and I'm guessing AQ amps hitting the market had something to do with that.

SD makes a solid amp and so does AQ, just that the AQ's are at a better price point.

I still have to question the durability of the SD1200 if you have so many refurbs for sale...

yeah they are both pretty similar and for the price point the AQ is pretty hard to beat

It looks like I may end up biting the bullet and going first. I bet someone local on the forum could help me clamp it properly. I don't feel like buying a voltage meter and clamp to test it.

ok so who here has actually clamped any one of these amps? or a amp? i run a cadence ia9 which is the same board as the aq 2200 and hifonics 2600. the 2200 is not under rated unless you have a high output alt to get 14.4 and get you box imp rise down to 1ohm. the aq is a great amp for the money i choose cadence for the 5 year warranty and it is made with better parts but we benched the hifonics at 1200wrms at 1.3 ohms but that is made with shit parts, my ia9 was clamped at 780wrms @4ohms wont have higher power reading till i get my d1 recone in but out of the three i havent used the ia20.1 so i cant comment the sundown is rated at 2kw @12.5v but is not the same board it will do better under 1 ohm but you will need to be wired down to .25 ohms to see 1 ohm after rise

1200 rms at 1.3 ohms on the 2600 brutus? bullshit lolz we have clamped the 2010d at close to 2100 rms at @ 1 ohm the MBQ 2000.1d is 330 shipped from me and has done even more than the 2010d did, it uses the same boards as the xxv does. in fact all the 10 series brutus amps use a virgin xxv boards with only slightly lower spec'd components inside, and they have all been upgraded inside to incorporate mil spec components and more than double the copper of any previous models.

also a little inside info for you, the build houses that are using zenon boards actually got into big time shit 2 yrs ago for stealing designs from the build house that does the xxv and brutus amps, do you have any idea who the design engineer is for hifonics /Maxxsonics? the same person that designed the ever popular zenon boards ! dumbass.

im not sure about those amps you have listed but i got a soundstream pcx 2000 and that thing makes my 2 12" pound and i only got my bass knob on half way!! i can set off car alarms with it at volume below 18!!
