which 2k amp is better?

customer service is a big thing with an amp this size. incriminator audio & sundown both have excellent customer service. i have also heard good things about cs w/aq.

Honestly I haven't heard anything bad about AQ either. Not trying to down them here, it's just that I personally am far more familiar with the IA and Sundown amps, and I know those factories in Korea that build the boards that go into ALL of these amps, use the same designs. However I HAVE run across a few amps that the PCB's and other components were just plain cheap, not saying AQ is using those, but I DO know the Sundown and IA stuff uses good components, not cheap stuff. IA may come out the same factory as AQ does now, but Sundown does not, they are ALL Zenon except the SAE-1200D which is a chinese little beast of an amp, but not my favorite because of the single sided board and other issues, but all of these things have been addressed in the new version of the SAE-1200D that is coming out. No more single sided PCB. The only other Sundown with a single side PCB is the 100.2/125.2 and I think it's record speaks for itself, it's a very low failure rate amp, but it's also small, and not that powerful, bigger amps need better components to be durable. Sundown listens to me well when I find a problem or potential problem with any of their amps. That's why you don't see a SINGLE sundown amp that uses spring clips with 90 degree mounting of the mosfets. BAD IDEA. Even the new SAZ-4500D that is coming out is delayed because a NEW heatsink has to be machined compared to the prototype so the parts (mosfets, and diodes) can be folded over and bolted down with bars and screws like all the other amps Sundown sells. To help prevent vibration damage that is SO common with the spring clip amps. If it weren't for Sundown listening to me, I don't think they would have made the choice to not use the spring clips. This is all so they can provide a product with a 2 year warranty and be comfortable with offering that. I seen so many spring clip amps break within 6 months to 1 year of use it aint even funny.

well doesnt AQ use the same components as DD, since they are pretty much the same company? correct me if i'm wrong but hasnt dd amps been compared and said to be pretty close to the same as IA amps? I could be totally wrong but i think this is what i read somewhere

Stop asking me this stuff guys. Even if I knew I am not allowed to tell.

There are a bunch of places over there in Korea that build amps using the same designs, but different PCB's and some are just a different color with no other differences. It's like there is no copyright laws over there or something.... or they buy the designs from a seperate company or something....

The only people who would know which factory exactly that their amp boards came from would be the people who run those companies, and I bet they aint saying nothing... But since I been dealing with Sundown for so long I know they are all Zenon except the SAE-1200D. I advised Sundown to stay with Zenon as long as possible because I was impressed with the quality of their boards and parts, and the designs are good too more up to date than the old Class D designs that really **** now because they keep breaking, like Chung-Lam... Not that they weren't top notch in their day, it's just that their day has come and gone and Zenon uses the better of the newer designs, so I told Sundown to stay with them and they have I know this for sure. Not sure on ANY of the other companies out there like DD, Audioque, RD, and IA which all have amps with similar designs but different boards in them.
