Where'd the talent go???

Most of the underground music is what it was like in the 90's. It pisses me off when people get paid so much to make the most pathetic song and it's catchy to people because of the beat.
I bet the people who make these songs are like wow this is a bullshit song, but people like it.

I'm not making this comment as being racist, but as a inference. Black people like the new hip hop for some reason but white people like the older style better still. Andre Nickatina is a good rapper with his metaphors and similes and at his concerts you don't see too many black people.
kinda legit. Last andre concert I was at was like all white people

If I'm not mistaken Jmanpc, you already made a thread about this. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif you reposted yourself.

There is still talent, but its not as popular. Also, you mentioned the Beatles. Yes their later work was amazing, but you still have to remember their eraly stuff, I mean "She Loves You" is just as bad as anything today, but there was the talent there and they made Sgt. Peppers, which no pop band today could do. But, there are bands like Tool, The Mars Volta, Nine Inch Nails, Rage, Deftones and the like that are talented, just not popular enough.

there was just as much crappy music then as there is now. only thing different is the people supporting it have become dumber and just need a new dance of the week like its the disco era again. also very few of us actually lived during the time of the great music the op posted, and whos to say we would like it then cause it was mainstream lol

ringtones ftw

yea but all rock that ppl like these days is emo or screaming shit....good music has dropped and hip hop seems to be taking over

Hip Hop is dead //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

This new style is 'rap.' Hip Hop has more ties to living in the ghetto-- and not glamorizing it, but rather the struggle to get out. That's why I consider TuPac to be half Rap half Hip Hop. In some of his songs, he composed some wonderful sh!t, real hip hop. There's many songs that directly contradict each other. Such as 'Ambitions As A Rider' and 'Changes.' One's about shooting people and the other is about changing for the better.

That is a basic allegory for the epic battle of 'Hip Hop' vs. 'Rap.'

You have greats like Nas, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli fighting against idiots like D.J. Unk, Solja Boy, and Rick Ross.

They're on the complete opposite sides of the spectrum-- but still people swear the latter is Hip Hop. But real Hip Hop is dead. It died when MTV started to feature it.

/end

Soundgarden was the shit back in the day. Chris Kornell or however you spell his last name was ment to be with Soundgarden and Zach with Rage. I just can't get into Audioslave.
wasn't eddie vetter with audioslave back when? but yeah. thought i'd be a bigger fan when i saw the members , but i just can't hear it.

Everybody has a different oppinion on what good music is. The pop, rap scene is what's getting spots on charts and you may not like that but alot of people do so to them its good music. Underground music is where it's at.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif....yeah -- i agree, people are basically getting sick of the same old rock/hip-hop/r&b bullsh*t..... and there is just this big upsurge from a new style coming out of Europe -- best place i've found it so far is a compilation series called 'euro club hits' on itunes -- or check this link://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
