Probably not...but as long as you don't try to resell it...I dunno...if I want to see a movie I'll usually just buy the DVD...they aren't that expensive nowadays.

Don't download full DVD's, download them all compressed.

Look for DVDrips, Bivx/Xvid files that are 700mb's to fit on a CD...

No thanks. I'll take an accurately ripped divx with AC3 5.1 so I don't have huge files, some of the rips are from BR even...

Upscaling on my receiver and it looks great!

I copy the file to a flash drive and play it through my ps3. I have no idea how the ps3 would handle upscaling or if it even can.

Take a look at all of your favorite "artists". How many of them are struggling? You want to know why they aren't struggling? It's because they see very little of the revenue from record sales. Most "artists" make the vast majority of their money from touring, personal appearances, endorsements and merchandise sales.

CD prices remain ridiculous a decade after peer 2 peer networks became popular. Why do the record companies refuse to adapt?

DVD prices remain ridiculous in spite of downloads and the introduction of Blu Ray. Why do you think that is?

I haven't purchased a CD in I don't know how long...iTunes works fine for me and I don't have to buy an entire album that is full of mostly crap...THAT is a great idea.

As for DVD's, I don't buy many and haven't rented for YEARS...kids in the house mean that the wife and I have little time for movies...and when we do, more often than not we are watching Ice Age, Up, Bolt, etc... and not the latest R rated piece o' crap from the "movie" industry.
