Alright i just got my first car and i want to put front components in it but i dont want to change anything permanently. There are no stock tweeters that i could find so i don't know where i would put the tweeter. Any suggestions? I guess i could just get coaxials but i dont know how much of an improvement that would be over my stock bose system.

Take the tweeters and place them with double sided tape on the A pillar, 6 inches from the woofer, on the dash firing towards the windshield, and in the door panel at the top. Find what placement best suites your tastes. Different vehicles will have different reponces with different drivers.

A comp set is steps beyond the factory bose system and a coaxil if installed properly;)

elemental design's came out with some inexpensivecomponents/coaxil the edi 6000's. They redid the whole thing. you can run them as a coaxil or as components. price is $125. but i dont know if you are an eD fan, a lot of people arent, and and some are. so its up to you.

Look for some convertables like the ones above. Several companies make them some have little arms that come out over the woofer and some have removable tweeters like the dd's. Ill look for some links and post them in a min.

You could also build a bridge over the woofer for the tweet. you are gonna have to play around with it to see what you like. If you don't want to cut you could do a coaxial.

what kind of car is this? *where are you willing to mount the speakers? *thats the question you need to answer before you get a convertable component. those kinds work real good in a propper kick panel

I have a 2004 monte carlo i would want to mount the speakers in the stock location. Is that bad? I wanted to keep it around or under $150 for the speakers.
