I relocated my battery to my trunk for reasons other than audio. My power runs are only about 18" long. Should I still put a fuse inbetween the battery and amp? I should probably put one on the power run between the battery in the hatch and the connection in the engine bay? If so, how do I figure out what size fuse to run? Based on my cranking amps?

You are right, run a fuse just before the power wire and trunk batt and the power wire and front batt. So two fuses for just the power wire.

Get a block of wood to fasten the fuses cuz you probably will have 3+ at this point.

4 gauge OFC wire is 120amp fuse and 0/1 gauge OFC is 300 amp fuses.

Idk the fuses in between
